I was going through a box of clothing we were getting rid of... and found two t-shirts that were still salvagable and a cute pair of jeans that were way too long. One shirt had gotten too short for Hallie, the other had some kind of greasy stain at the waist.
Next stop... my fabric stash. I found a brown, white and turquoise stripe that matches the owl shirt perfectly (hard to see the turquoise in the photo, but trust me, it's there), and a vintage piece I got from my grandma years ago (from the 60's, I'd guess) that matches the pink.
Quick stich up the back, hem, gather and attach to the t-shirt (15 minutes, start to finish)... and we have a dress! Unfortunately, I forgot about that pesky stain!
So I shortened it and re-attached. This was better.
Same routine with the pink.
Then I cut off the jeans, opened the inseam and used the extra fabric to widen it into a cute jean skirt.
They aren't perfect, but they are perfectly acceptable for play dresses. Hallie loves them. And they cost me NOTHING!

Absolutely beautiful!!! You are a good momma. I love the dresses in particular; they are adorable.

Those are great! You've inspired me; I want to get my machine out now! I love the vintage print skirt. The colors are fantastic with Hallie's rosy cheeks!
