We just finished up our current Read-Aloud moments ago. (All-of-a-Kind Family, by Sydney Taylor). Sam asked when we were going to watch the movie for it. It's a fair question... we generally do watch the corresponding movie when we finish a book. Guess it's been a while since we read a book WITHOUT a movie to go with it. I looked online to see if there was one, and I think I shocked Sam with the answer.
Mama: "Sorry Sam, there isn't a movie for this book."
Sam: "There's ISN'T??? Then what did we read it for?!"

Oh boy...

I LOVED that book! Have you seen this resource?
www.jewishlibraries.org/ajlweb/awards/companion.pdf
It has some great activities related to the book and suggestions for other books and a movie, as well as information on what happened to the real life people the characters were based on.

BTW, we just finished up *our* family movie, which also followed a book: Treasures of the Snow. Have you read/seen that one yet?

Remind him that the book is always better than the movie. I guess you could be really cool like you usually are and just do a party!
We will have to try that book too, we are just finishing Caddie Woodlawn. It is a great book.
