You, my friends, both real-life and bloggy, have been such great prayer warriors for our family over the last year or more. Some of you, I know, continued to pray for the return of our children, long after I was afraid to hold out hope. We are so grateful.
Praying for my children has been one of "those things", so necessary, so beneficial, yet I seem to have a terrible time staying consistent. So we're going to try this. I'm going to try to post on Sundays an area of prayer need for each of my children... somewhere for me to focus my prayers throughout that week, and an opportunity for you (if you feel so inclined) to lift up these precious little ones, too. I take the time, when reading through others' blogs and a prayer request is mentioned, to lift a quick prayer for their situations. If you're willing to do that for us too, we'd appreciative.
Praying this week...
FOR SAM to overflow with love. (Matthew 12:34 - "For out of the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks.") Much of what we've heard from him this last week (or more) has been "I hate this game, I hate this day, I hate this, I hate that..." Thankfully, it's been about situations or things, and not people, but pray that his heart would overflow with love, rather than hate.
FOR TYLER to accept and feel love. (Psalm 68:6 - "God sets the lonely in families...") Tyler reacts quickly to old wounds - feeling unheard, unappreciated, inconsequential and has built walls to protect himself. But he's still a scared, lonely kid. Pray that we could love him in a way that he can trust and accept, and that God would tear down those walls he built out of necessity and survival.
FOR HALLIE to control her anger. (Psalm 103:8 - "The LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love.") Hallie can be very sensitive, but she rarely expresses that with sadness - it jumps right to anger, and sometimes aggression. Pray that she could get control of her emotions, and that we could find the best way to raise her to have a sweet spirit.
FOR HAILEY to seek God. (Matthew 7:8 - "For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.") Of all of our children, Hailey has shown the least interest in the things of God, in what He wants, in what His Word says. Pray that God would open the doors for her to see her need for Him, and the benefit of a life lived for God.
Sam, Hallie, Hailey, Tyler - Summer 2009

Done. I even threw in a prayer for you and your husband, and the collective family.

Consider yourself prayed for! What a blessing it will be to pray for your family and watch as God in His wisdom answers those request.
