Here are just a few of the activites and traditions we've experienced this month...
- Reading our Advent Book (Jotham's Journey) and lighting advent candles each night.
- Watching LOTS of Christmas Movies. (New children had seen remarkably few!)
- Decorated the tree all together, as a family.
- Created a new Christmas Mix CD (I made one in 2005 that we LOVE, and now we have 2 to choose from with a great mix of holiday music), and printed on it with Lightscribe. (And played it often!)
- Decorated cookies with friends.
- Attended the local Foster and Adoption Christmas Party
- Decorated Giant Gingerbread Men
- Made Christmas Cookies and Candy (Almond Roca Cookies, Rocky Road, Cathedral Windows)
- Delivered Christmas treats to our neighbors.
- Took a Christmas Jammie Ride (with cocoa and cookies and christmas lights).
(Molly got carsick and we had to pull over a while, and head home earlier than expected. Note to self: dramamine next year.)
- Attended a Christmas program at a local church.
- Bought the children new ornaments (we do every year.) After not finding anything I liked for a reasonable price for our new children, I came across these cute keys, and thought they'd be just perfect for their first year in their forever home!
Gideon and Molly's ornaments:
- Digital Christmas Card (up on the blog tomorrow) and annual Christmas letter (didn't get those out until this week!)
- Peppermint Mochas and Caramel Brulee Lattes. :)
- Little People Nativity Set (with Shepherds set, and a new addition this year of the Inn at Bethlehem.)
- And of course, our yearly tradition of matching Christmas Jammies. (I make the pants, which are easy, and buy t-shirts. I got lucky at JoAnn's this year with $1.29 a yard flannel. I bought 2 full bolts, one for this year (blue with snowmen and snowflakes) and one for next year (lime green with light blue and white snowflakes).
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU AND YOURS!

We are also reading Jotham's Journey this year. We've read all 3 books in the series and are starting over. They are an awesome Christmas read.

I love the ornaments for the new kids. That is perfect!! I did not know that fisher price had come out with a new part to the nativity. I wonder if I can still get it. Merry Christmas.
Blessings,
Dawn
