A few months back, we heard of a tour happening at a local (just a few blocks from our home) Greek Orthodox Church. The timing was perfect to fit with our study of Ancient Greece, so we signed up right away. (Warning: Cell Phone Photos)
The children loved how ornate the inside of the building was, and loved the paintings and decor, especially the inside of the domes. (Baby K just kept STARING up into the domes, too!)
They learned a bit about the Greek Orthodox Church, saw the flag of Greece, and familiarized themselves with another local building.
And now that we've been there, I guess I'll just *HAVE* to take them to the next "Greek Fest," an event that the chuch holds each year, complete with (from what I hear is) delicious Greek food!

What a cool field trip. I love it when stuff pops up that goes with our studies.
Blessings,
Dawn
